Owl's Leap Reserve is a big full-bodied dry red wine that expresses the spiciness of Chambourcin grapes (66%) and the rich mellow smoothness that two years of aging in oak barrels can bring. Blended with Norton grapes (35%) to add depth, Chambourcin has a black pepper aroma and flavors with anise and clove. Presents caramel notes similar to a fine aged port. The grapes for our Owl's Leap Reserve are from our oldest vines and are allowed to mature well into October each fall. Pair with a big, thick steak, or with bold red sauce dishes. |
